Time flies, sometimes you are having fun, and at times there is simply too much on the go! It’s with great sheepish-ness that we are so delayed in posting this family home completed in 2017. Nestled in the heart of London, this 5 bedroom apartment is a home away from home. We worked in conjunction with local architects, designers, artisans and suppliers.
We don’t just solve living and working spaces. We were commissioned to create a versatile, fun set for Disney Cookabout – a children’s adventure game show that uses cooking and the sourcing of locally-farmed, wholesome produce to promote healthy eating.
We were asked to economically renovate and revitalise a compact house with expansive problems caused by damp as a result of an overenthusiastic external paint job some months earlier.
This double-story home was previously two separate dwellings. We re-integrated both levels for the new owner and overhauled the space to reflect her eclectic style.
We used the raw, natural Karoo environment where Avoova’s handcrafted luxury gifts and accessories originate from as inspiration for this high end retail environment. The heavy brutal materials contrast beautifully against the delicate broken white and ivory of the product.
Minimalist mid-century style that looks to African design to change the tempo. The house designed by architect, Antonio Zaninovic, borders Table Mountain at the back and overlooks Cape Town CBD.
The challenge in this destination outdoor furniture store was to create an aesthetic balance whilst retaining the signature of each brand in a mixed showroom.
The brief for this split level apartment overlooking Cape Town was to liven an old apartment with bright 1950’s colour and create space for the client’s ever growing record collection.
Our brief was to refresh this well established family home around their existing furniture and artwork elements whilst re-framing and adding a few new contemporary pieces.
A complete renovation to create a vibrant space for an executive who travels frequently, loves to entertain, but also values time alone. We specifically designed the bedroom and meditation space to help still the mind.
Working very closely with the owner we completely renovated this double storey apartment opening it up to the views and allowing for large entertaining areas. A few key pieces of furniture from their previous residence were merged with the new colour palette.
Our challenge was to create a high end boutique retail environment for Avoova within an exceptionally small retail space in the new Four Season’s Hotel in Johannesburg. The fine eggshell veneer of the product provided inspiration for visual displays.
Lutge Gallery is meticulously curated by Allan Lutge. The gallery is host to Allan’s table designs in reclaimed indigenous woods, a selection of architectural salvage as well as contemporary South African ceramics, photography and art. We have worked with Allan to make seasonal changes to their showroom and redressing when new stock is introduced.
A styling project for a commercial client to introduce a new season of homeware ranges. Urbanara was established in 2010 as an online store who would deliver quality at affordable prices.
A boutique homeware retail outlet in Franschoek, South Africa. The brief was to give the space a refresh, leading up to full redesign at a later stage. We moved the palette from beige and brown to high gloss black, sunshine yellow and added green only with the use plants. So bringing the space to life.
